Is littering a pet peeve? Wish there was something you could do that would make a difference? Try handing out one of these cards next time you see someone litter.
If you can't see an image on your left, are you using Internet Explorer? If so, try using Google Chrome or Firefox.
HOW I USE THIS CARD:
If I actually see someone litter, and it's safe to do so, I walk up to the person and ask (nicely) if they are done with it and if they mind if I take it.
Of course they don’t mind, so I take it and thank them while handing them a “Thank You” card. Absolutley NO confrontation. I do not make them *wrong*. They are probably scratching their heads wondering what I find so valuable about what they just discarded.
The back of the card gives the time -- in years -- it takes commonly littered items to decompose.
Since I haven't *attacked* them about littering, hopefully they are open to read and take in the information and think about littering differently in the future.
Because I am trying to get the message out to as many people as possible these cards are available as a FREE DOWNLOAD to print from your computer. Five of them will print out on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper. Of course you need to cut them and if they are printed on an ink jet printed there is the possibility of the ink smearing if they get wet. (You could "laminate" them with clear contact paper.) If you prefer, you can purchase a set of ten pre-printed, two sides, and laminated for $2.50 in our GIFT SHOP.
